Still learning

I don’t recall much of what i did in the weekdays. There really weren’t too much fun in it since everybody had been working like crazy. Before we know it, it was Friday. Its a pity we had to return the rental car, or else there would have been another road trip somewhere else this week. Tho we had a great time down at a Mexican food joint sipping some magaritas and late dinner.

On Saturday we took the Bart train across the Bay bridge to Oakland, to check out some furniture stores. I must admit i don’t go for furniture shopping much, so Ikea to me is alittle bit of an odd mix. But i must say the amount of people going through the whole store is ridiculous.

Somewhere in Oakland…

I think i’ve had enough furniture hunting for this week. When you get so much choices, it makes it alot harder to decide. Either way, you’ll still end up bitching about it.

A pair of runners

I’m getting fat. Thats the only reason why i decided to get myself a pair of runners. It got to a point that i can’t ignore the growing buldge on my waist line. Nike shoes are generally cheaper over here, well, sometimes a whole lot cheaper.

Jim and Natalie also brought up an interesting thing the other day. In Malaysia, i used to call them sports shoes. Over here and Aus, its called runners/trainers. If you get going-out type fabric shoes, in Aus we usually call them sneakers, but they call them kickers here. Some other “different” things include calling it gas instead of petrol, car trunk instead car boot, theres no such thing as a fortnight, and asking for a toilet is not the way to go but bathroom or washroom is. So there you have it.

On our way back to the corporate apartment from the other side of town, we found some interesting business going on. Something i haven’t quite seen before in Australia let alone Malaysia.

I like to name this photo as “shoppers gone wild”

The convenience of having a supermarket (and plenty of trolleys) below the apartment.
